Using the Drew insole plus my prescription orthotic feels better than my other shoes. The Velcro strap was easily set to slip shoes on and off using my 24 inch shoe horn! The Arch support is not supporting my Arch.Big, comfortable, easy on and off. It's not advertised as waterproof, but hasn't leaked yet in the recent snowfall. Traction is decent and it doesn't track lots of dirt and snow inside. I often leave the straps loose and step in and out of them.I have two nice pair of boots with side zippers that have become very difficult for me to put on. Due to arthritis, I have limited range of comfortable motion in one leg. These open wide and the Velcro strap is easy for me to reach and open/close. So these really deliver on my primary reason for purchase, which is ease of getting on and off.The tongue of the boot is not attached to the shaft of the boot, so they are not waterproof to the top of the boot, but the design seems adequate to keep snow out, which is my primary need. I see several complaints in other reviews about the height of the toe box. Remember there are two orthotic inserts; if you need more height in the toe box, the supplied directions recommend removing the lower insert. I seem to have enough room with both in.I have not had these long enough to rate durability; however, they appear well constructed.I've had these shoes for a few months now and am generally pleased by how they've held up to regular use. As my second pair of Drew shoes, I can confirm that they are a quality product worth the cost, especially for those with foot issues. My only complaint with this particular design has to do with the velcro fastener. I suspect it was by design, but you simply cannot get the shoe very tight around the ankle where the fastener attaches. I'd have preferred something I've seen in other velcro fasterner based shoes, where you have something to tighten against before the velcro is attached. So while the shoe fits and is comfortable, I always feel like there is more movement by my feet sliding around in the shoe because I can't get the ankle fit very tight.Years ago, purchased a pair and have worn out the soles. So have a new pair of a known good boots.I bought these for my husband a year ago. He is not diabetic but has a reoccurring skin condition on his feet so he needs shoes that will not irritate them. He wears them every day on a construction site and he likes the fit and says they are very comfortable. Unfortunately, he told me that both soles now have big holes where they are separating from the boot and they have been coming apart for the past few months. The Velcro flap has also needed to be stitched back together on both boots because this is falling apart too. We live in the south, so there is no harsh climate or snow or salt that would cause them to disintegrate like this. He still really likes the boot, but I'm very hesitant to purchase these again.Very comfortable and the velcro strap makes it easy, quick and convenient to remove and put on. This is especially nice when going through security at airports! However, you should be aware, they are not made for guys that weigh over 250 lbs. They wear out very quickly if yoiu are above that weight. Still, they are priced reasonably enough (compared to other similar products) that 4 pairs a year is not that big a problem. If you are not heavier than the max recommended weight, you could probably get by with one or two pairs a year.
