Big Sister Now: A Heartwarming Story About Siblings and Welcoming a New Baby - Perfect for New Big Sisters and Family Bonding Moments

This is my daughter's favorite book about being a big sister. (She is 2 yrs. + 4 mos. and the new baby is due in a month and a half.) I recommend buying a few books for your young child if you are about to have a new baby too. I definitely recommend this book being among them. This one is different than the other 3 we bought and truth be told, I like them all, but this one is the favorite. I'm glad I didn't listen to the review that said this book made them cringe. I think it is realistic that the older sibling will be dealing with hard feelings about having to wait for mommy and daddy's time, and not being the center of attention all the time. I also thought the parents in the story handled the situations very well (i.e. "I'm sorry Kate, but you have to wait because Daniel is a baby and he doesn't know how to wait yet.") My daughter is still looking forward to having a sibling. By the end of this book, Kate realizes she can help mommy and daddy with the baby - she makes sillies for Daniel while daddy changes his diaper, and she brings daniel his bear and his blanket while mommy tries to soothe him. At the very end she says she's happy to be the big sister because she can go help grandma bake cookies, which Daniel wouldn't be able to do because he is just a baby.
